Everything started off well, got the wheels cleaned, friend used the pressure washer to wash his car, left the pressure washer turned on for over an hour, with the pump priming every few minutes must of burned it out, so had to forgo the snow foam and other stuff, cleaned the car with just a hose pipe (which one of the ends kept jumping off, soaking the immediate area, used a back up hose pipe) which took much longer, sealed and then onto the interior.

How many kilometers are on that Parsch? Looks well loved and often enjoyed. Glad it could get such a thorough svending.

I’m still having trouble with my headlights. I bought a mother’s wet sanding and polish kit but they are turning out slightly foggy. I’ve repeated a few times but it hasn’t got much better.

Second headlight i knew better and taped off the only area that was foggy. Wet sanded area is on top and shows my problem.

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

First headlight I sanded the good and bad parts and it looks slightly foggy.

Nope. I started off by saying, ‘right, before I start. I don’t want any money, gifts or favours, that’s the condition. I’m getting ahead of it now before before we have this discussion afterwards’. The reply was, ‘well that was a conversation killer’.

Though we still had the discussion afterwards for ten minutes. Lol.

I do it for the pleasure of doing it.

So, if you don’t have a sign writer friend, how do you recommend removing the protective film? The same discoloration has happened to the film on my WRX and I need to replace it.

Absolutely beautiful work Svend! Ever thought of doing some informative how-to posts? Id love to see some of your cleaning methods and products you use.

I recognize maybe half of the products in your list, but im in the US so we dont get all the same goodies.

Nothing wrong with a base model. Still a beautiful car.

9 0,527miles on the clock.

I just used P1 polish on a cloth, five minutes later, wiped off and buffed.

It’s a water based non diminishing pad dependent nano polish.

It’s fantastic. Kev, the owner was very impressed as the driver side headlight was very yellow, much worse than the passenger side. I should of took a picture before I did it.

The best way is to use a heat gun on a low heat to soften the glue, don’t worry about leaving any glue residue behind as that can be easily removed with a good tar and glue remover.

Just do it low and slow. Don’t use the heat gun in one place, but wave it a little for a few seconds and then try and ease it off. You don’t want too high a heat as you’ll end up damaging the clearcote any way.

My headlights have responded much worse than that of my dad’s, whose headlights I used to test it. The older

Kinja'd!!!

The headlights did not respond well to UV headlight polish. I suspect maybe some of the factory stuff was still layered on there since the sanding has produced very unevenly cloudy results.

I did one a while back, but never know what to put in, leave out or to go deeper into.

I can’t find it at the moment.

Svend and I both post over on a forum called detailingworld.co.uk

I do a lot of wax tests and reviews, as we spoke about doing a how-to right up on detailing. I might start putting together a post for here so you guys can see how it’s done.

Oh boy a whole forum for detailing? I could really dive down this rabbit hole

I find detailing and restoring to be very therapeutic.

With my pressure washing packing in and his car having a flat battery, I made sure I did everything the very best I could.

Barring in mind, I'm also on anti biotic for a water infection so my back hurts, stomach cramps, etc... I'm more than surprised I made it through. Lol.

I have it bookmarked.  :) That way when I eventually get around to cleaning either of our vehicles, I can do a proper job of it.

Same here. As a resident of BC, I also use the purchase of detailing supplies for money laundering .
